Baseball Roundup: Klosterman Drives in Four as City High Downs Top-ranked Pleasant Valley

City High bounced back from a non-conference loss at Burlington on Tuesday with perhaps its best victory of the season on Thursday.
John Klosterman drove in four runs to lift Class 4A sixth-ranked City High to a 4-2 win over top-ranked Pleasant Valley in a non-conference showdown of top-10 teams in Bettendorf.
Klosterman snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning as City High improved to 20-6 on the season.
Klosterman got City High on the board early with a two-run double in the first inning.
Pleasant Valley pulled even on a two-run home run by Carson Albrecht in the second and it remained tied until Klosterman’s two-run single in the seventh.
Junior Gavin Koch earned the win for City High holding the top-ranked Spartans to just two runs on five hits in a complete game victory.
Koch struck out five and walked one in the win.
Gable Mitchell had a hit and scored two runs while Cade Obermueller had a hit and scored a run. Joey Bouska scored a run for City ihgh and Cedric Dunnwald had a hit.
