Baseball Roundup: City High Completes Season Sweep of Liberty High with 13-4 Win

City High picked up its second win over cross-town rival Liberty High in as many nights on Tuesday completing the season sweep of the Lightning with a 13-4 win in North Liberty.
Cade Obermueller tossed five strong innings and City High hammered 14 hits as the Little Hawks followed up its 12-3 win at Mercer Park on Monday with the road victory on Tuesday.
City High improved to 6-4 on the season and 5-1 in Mississippi Valley Conference play while Liberty High dropped to 4-5 and 2-4 in MVC action.
Obermueller allowed two runs, one earned, on just one hit while striking out eight and walking two in five innings.
James Kriz threw the final two innings for City High to secure the win.
Six different Little Hawks had hits on Tuesday led by Gavin Koch, Ben Kueter and Cedric Dunnwald with three hits apiece.
Dunnwald went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Koch was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBI and three runs scored.
Kueter was 3-for-4, scored a run and drove in three runs while Egan Smith with 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI and Gable Mitchell was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Carter Seaton drove in a run for City High and John Klosterman scored a run for the Little Hawks.
TJ Kimm had a two-run single in the first inning for Liberty High and Brody Fishman scored twice for the Lightning.
Jack Funke had a hit and scored a run for Liberty High.
Hayden Vickroy took the loss for the Lightning allowing seven runs on eight hits in three innings.
