Solon closed its season on Monday with a fifth-place finish at the Class 3A, Region 4 meet at Springbrook Country Club in DeWitt.

Dubuque Wahlert won the team title with a 378 and Monticello was runner-up with a 395 as both teams advanced to the Class 3A state meet on June 1-2.

Host Central DeWitt was third with a 407 and Cedar Rapids Xavier finished fourth with a 410 followed by Solon with a 420. Clear Creek Amana was eighth at the 11-team regional with a 457.

Solon senior Katlyn Jeter shot a 94 to finish seventh, one spot away from being an individual state qualifier.

Camryn Keith fired a 106 and Lilly Houtakker a 109 for the Spartans.

Ellie Hagen shot a 107 and Meg Berkland a 112 for Clear Creek Amana while Ashlyn Pompo added a 117 for the Clippers.

Drucilla Kramer of Monticello won the individual title with an 86.
