Volleyball Roundup: Liberty High Advances to Regional Final

Liberty High moved one win away from the first state tournament appearance in program history.
Class 5A second-ranked Liberty High swept Muscatine 25-10, 25-15, 25-13 in the Region 7 semifinals on Tuesday in North Liberty.
Liberty High improved to 33-2 on the season with the win and will host No. 11 Dubuque Hempstead (20-13) in the Region 7 title game on Monday at 7 p.m.
Cassidy Hartman had 12 kills to lead Liberty High on Tuesday while Sydney Woods added seven kills, LeeAnn Potter had five and Shelby Kimm had four.
Rylee Fay had eight kills, four ace serves, 16 assists and six digs in the win while Hailey Hested had a team-high 17 assists and four ace serves.
Addie Schmierer led Liberty High with seven digs.
Clippers Fall to Clinton in Regional Semifinals
Clinton knocked off No. 14 Clear Creek Amana 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 25-16 in the Class 4A, Region 7 semifinals on Tuesday in Tiffin.
Clear Creek Amana closes the season 23-15 while Clinton improved to 13-22 and will travel to No. 10 Western Dubuque in the Region 7 title game on Monday.
Calia Clubb led Clear Creek Amana with 19 kills while Morgan Etscheidt had nine kills and Cheyaenne Bunch had 35 assists.
