City High got individual titles from three different athletes and had five other top-three finishes while placing third as a team at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division meet on Thursday at Loras College in Dubuque.

Raph Hamilton, Jovan Harris and Ammon Smith all won individual titles for the Little Hawks as City High racked up 123.5 points.

Cedar Falls won the team title with 158 points while Cedar Rapids Prairie was second with 155.

Liberty High got individual titles from Bowen Gryp and Daqwan Sanders and also won a pair of relays while placing fourth with 89.5 points.

Hamilton won the shot put with a mark of 54-10 ¼ to lead City High while Harris won the 400 in 49.89 and Smith was first in the 800 in 1:56.35.

Hamilton was runner-up in the discus with a toss of 151-10, Ford Washburn was second in the 1,600 in 4:24.92 while Matt Schaeckenbach finished second in the 400 hurdles in a time of 56.08 and was third in high jump.

Ronnie Major finished third in the long jump and City High was second in the shuttle hurdle, 4×400 and 4×800 relays.

Gryp led Liberty High winning the 1,600 in 4:23.52 while Sanders won the long jump with a mark of 20-9 ½.

The Liberty High distance medley relay team of Evan Chandler, Ben O’Connor, Michael Miller and Jack Kinzer won in 3:39.02 and the Lightning 4×800 team of Gavin Keeney, Jordan Robinson, Caleb Schillinger and Gryp was victorious in 8:03.08.
