Class 5A No. 12 City High closed the regular season on a high note on Tuesday with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 sweep of Cedar Rapids Prairie in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup in Cedar Rapids.
City High improved to 14-12 with the win and 4-3 in MVC play while Cedar Rapids Prairie dropped to 14-19 and 3-4 in conference play.
Kelsey Law led City High with 13 kills and added seven digs while Cecilia Aldrich-Ingram had 11 kills for the Little Hawks.
Lindsey Bolton had 34 assists while Maya Morales had a team-high 15 digs.
Mia Loughran had nine digs and Makayla Ribble had nine digs and three ace serves.
Liberty High Downs Cedar Rapids Jefferson
Class 5A second-ranked Liberty High closed the regular season 28-1 with a 17-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division match on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.
The Lightning finished 6-1 in MVC Valley Division play with the win while Cedar Rapids Jefferson dropped to 10-15 on the season and 2-5 in MVC play.
Cassidy Hartmann had a team-high 14 kills to lead Liberty High while LeeAnn Potter added 13 kills for the Lightning.
Rylee Fay had 25 assists, eight kills, two blocks and an ace serve while Shelby Kimm had eight kills and three blocks.
Sydney Woods had four kills, 18 digs and two ace serves and Addie Schmierer had a team-high 20 digs for the Lightning.
Haley Hested had 21 assists.
