West Branch Continues Unbeaten Start With Win at Mid-Prairie Invitational

West Branch continued its unbeaten start to the season by cruising to the team title at the Golden Hawk Invitational on Tuesday at Kalona Golf Course.
The Bears had three golfers tie for the top score on Thursday with an 80 as West Branch finished with a 323 to finish 45 strokes in front of runner-up Washington.
Mount Vernon was third at the 10-team meet with a 379 followed by Wilton with a 395 and host Mid-Prairie with a 401. Regina was eighth with a 438.
Dylan Countryman, Brady Knoop and Gage Gingerich all fired an 80 for West Branch and Will Bridges shot an 83 as the Bears put four golfers in the top five.
Roman Roth of Washington also shot an 80 on Tuesday and earned individual medalist honors.
All six West Branch golfers finished in the top 10 as Kaleb Sexton shot an 87 to place eighth and Logan Highly fired an 89 to place 10th.
Mikey Takacs shot a 96 to lead Regina.
