City High fell to Class 4A second-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier 25-12, 25-14, 25-21 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup on Tuesday in Iowa City.

Class 5A No. 12 City High dropped to 2-1 with the loss and 0-1 in MVC play while Cedar Rapids Xavier improved to 1-1 and 1-0 in MVC contests.

CeCe Aldrich-Ingram led City High with 12 kills while Mia Loughran added seven kills.

Makayla Ribble had five kills and 11 assists, Lindsey Bolton had 18 assists and Maya Morales had 17 digs for the Little Hawks.
