City High won titles in 10 of 12 events on its way to a 121-64 season-opening win over Dubuque Hempstead on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet in Dubuque.

Senior Carly Weigel won four titles to pace City High winning the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke and helping the Little Hawks to relay victories in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Freshman Averi Loria won the 50 freestyle for her first varsity win and Portia Klefstad picked up her first varsity win with a title in the 500 freestyle.

Rika Yahashiri won the 200 freestyle, Olivia Masterson won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly and Peyton Sands added a title in the 1-meter diving.

West High Rolls at Cedar Rapids Jefferson

West High cruised to a 143-40 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson on Tuesday in a season-opening Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet in Cedar Rapids.

The Women of Troy won 11 of 12 events and finished first and second in all three relays on their way to the convincing win.

Scarlet Martin, Olivia Taeger and Aurora Roghair all won two individual events for West High.

Martin won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, Roghair won the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle and Taeger won the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

Ella Hochstetler added a title in the 50 freestyle.
