Boys Basketball Roundup: West Branch Cruises Past Durant

It was a bit of an early wakeup call for West Branch on Saturday with a 12:30 p.m. tip time against Durant.
In a season filled with interesting scheduling twists the Bears were once again up to the task.
Class 2A fifth-ranked West Branch rolled to a 65-37 win over Durant in a River Valley Conference South Division contest in West Branch.
Simon Palmer had a double-double with a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds and also had five assists as West Branch improved to 14-1 on the season and in RVC play.
Gavin Hierseman had 12 points, five assists and four rebounds while Thomas Gould had 10 points and five rebounds and Jeff Bowie added nine points and five boards.
Holden Arnaman had six points, four assists and two steals and Peyton Miller had three points, three steals and three assists.
Durant dropped to 3-16 with the loss.
