The third member of the state’s highest scoring back court has made her college choice.
City High senior guard Paige Rocca announced her decision Friday when she announced her commitment to Missouri State on Twitter.
“I’m excited to announce I have verbally committed to Missouri St. University!,” Rocca wrote on Twitter.
Rocca becomes the third Division I recruit in the City High backcourt joining teammates Aubrey Joens and Rose Nkumu.
Joens is an Iowa State recruit and Nkumu committed to Marquette University earlier this month.
Rocca is coming of a breakthrough junior season in which she ranked third on the team in scoring behind Joens at Nkumu at 9.6 points per game.
The 5-foot-8 Rocca shot 32 percent from the 3-point line and a team-high 91 percent from the free throw line last season.
Rocca averaged 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game last season helping City High to a 19-3 record and a Class 5A state tournament berth.
Missouri State is coming off a 25-10 season that included a Missouri Valley Conference tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16.
