Baseball Roundup: Center Point-Urbana Takes Two From Clear Creek Amana

Center Point-Urbana got back-to-back stellar outings from Grant Bryant and Braylon Havel and swept Clear Creek Amana in a WAMAC doubleheader on Tuesday in Center Point.
Bryant allowed just one run on seven hits as Center Point-Urbana won the opener 3-1 and Havel struck out four in a complete-game four-hitter as the Stormin’ Pointers completed the sweep with a 3-0 win in the nightcap.
Center Point-Urbana improved to 10-11 and 7-9 in WAMAC play with the sweep while Clear Creek Amana dropped to 10-13 and 7-11 in conference play.
Clear Creek Amana got a strong performance from Camden Smyka in the opener but it wasn’t enough.
Smyka struck out 10 and allowed three runs on six hits in six innings and also had a hit in the 3-1 loss.
Ben Swails went 2-for-3 with a run and Tyler Schrepfer doubled and drove in a run in the opener.
Sam Young took the loss in the nightcap allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out three in six innings.
Young, Smyka, Cody Ogden and Schrepfer all had hits in the nightcap.
