Unbeaten Liberty High Moves Up in Associated Press Boys Basketball Poll

After posting a pair of wins in its return from a two-week layoff unbeaten Liberty High moved up a spot in the most recent Class 4A boys basketball poll released by the Associated Press on Monday.
Liberty High (5-0) climbed one spot to fifth in the most recent poll, trailing only top-ranked Cedar Falls, Waukee, Johnston and Ankeny Centennial in Class 4A.
The Lightning join Cedar Falls as the only remaining unbeaten teams in 4A and are schedule to travel to Cedar Falls for a top-five matchup on Tuesday.
Solon (13-1) continued to climb in the Class 3A poll, moving up one spot for the third week in a row.
Winners of 13 in a row the Spartans are tied with Davenport Assumption for sixth in Monday’s 3A poll.
West Branch (9-0) hasn’t played since January 8 and dropped one spot to fifth in the Class 2A poll on Monday.
The Bears are tied with Dike-New Hartford in the fifth spot in 2A.
Top-ranked teams this week are Cedar Falls (4A), Ballard (3A), Boyden-Hull (2A) and North Linn (1A).
