For the second time this week Mitch Evans played the role of hero for the Clear Creek Amana boys soccer team on Thursday.

Evans scored his second consecutive overtime winner on Thursday to lift Clear Creek Amana to a 1-0 win over Vinton-Shellsburg in a WAMAC West Division match in Vinton.

The Clippers improved to 2-2 with the win while Vinton-Shellsburg dropped to 3-1.

Clear Creek Amana took a 1-0 lead on a Julius Augustin free kick goal in the 42nd minute.

Vinton-Shellsburg forced overtime but Evans scored the game-winner from 30 yards out in overtime.

The game-winning goal for Evans came after he gave the Clippers a 1-0 win over Benton Community on Tuesday with a goal off a Trevor King corner kick in double overtime.
