Regina Shortstop De Los Santos Commits To Black Hawk College

One of the top infielder prospects in the state has locked up his future plans.
Regina senior shortstop Eliezer De Los Santos announced his commitment to Black Hawk College on Thursday with a post on social media.
“Excited to announce my commitment to Coach Keim and Black Hawk College to continue my baseball career,” De Los Santos wrote in a post on Twitter. “I want to thank God first and then my family. I am especially grateful to my teachers and coaches at Regina for the opportunity to receive my high school education in America. I cannot thank Coach (Todd) Becker enough for guidance and growth as a baseball player.”
An exchange student from the Dominican Republic, De Los Santos flashed his potential in his first season at Regina.
A smooth-fielding shortstop, De Los Santos emerged as one of the top infielders in Class 2A this summer.
De Los Santos hit a team-high .545 in his first varsity season and led Regina with a .659 on-base percentage and 17 runs.
The junior tied for the team lead with five extra-base hits, including two triples, and seven stolen bases on his way to being named to the River Valley Conference Elite team.
De Los Santos led Regina with a .789 slugging percentage and ranked second on the team with 11 walks.
Located in Moline, Illinois Black Hawk College is a member of the National Junior Athletic Association and Arrowhead Conference
The Braves were 28-19 in 2019.
