Four Your Prep Sports area teams in four different classes appeared in the first Associated Press football poll of the season released on Monday.

West High, Solon, West Branch and Regina all earned spots in the top 10 of their respective classes in the opening poll.

West High (1-0) is eighth in Class 4A after opening the season with a 27-0 win over Liberty High.

Solon (0-1) is tied for fifth in Class 2A while West Branch (1-0) is fifth in Class 1A and Regina (0-1) is third in Class A.

Top-ranked teams in the opening poll of the season are West Des Moines Dowling (4A), Dallas Center-Grimes (3A), PCM (2A), O-A/BCIG (1A), Grundy Center (A) and Don-Bosco (8-player).
