Raph Hamilton will kick off the final season of his prep career in two weeks when City High hosts Davenport Central in its opener.
Before his final high school season gets rolling Hamilton has already made a decision on his college future.
The Little Hawk quarterback announced he was verbally committing to the University of Mary on Saturday with a post on social media.
“I am blessed to announce that I am committed to the University of Mary,” Hamilton wrote on Twitter. “I believe that the University of Mary offers me the best opportunity to succeed and grow as a football player, student and a young man of faith.”
A three-year starter, the 6-foot-4 230-pound Hamilton passed for 766 yards and four touchdowns last season as a junior and rushed for 343 yards and four more scores.
In his first two varsity seasons Hamilton has passed for more than 1,600 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed for nearly 500 yards and six scores.
University of Mary is a Division II program located in Bismarck, North Dakota and a member of the Northern Sun Athletic Intercollegiate Conference.
The Marauders are coming off a 2-9 season in 2019.
