It was hardly a masterpiece but Clear Creek Amana did enough to get back on track on Monday.
Clear Creek Amana built a six-point halftime lead, overcame a three-point third quarter and held on for a 37-31 win over Vinton-Shellsburg in a WAMAC West Division tilt in Vinton.
The Clippers snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 10-6 on the season and 7-3 in WAMAC West Division play with the win.
Vinton-Shellsburg dropped to 7-8 on the season and 4-5 in WAMAC West Division play.
Christian Withrow scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Clear Creek Amana.
Tyler Schrepfer added 10 points while TJ Bollers had seven points and six rebounds.

Hempstead Handles Liberty High
Max Duax and Michael Duax each scored 14 points to lead Dubuque Hempstead to a 69-46 win over Liberty High in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup on Monday in North Liberty.
Liberty High dropped to 6-10 on the season with its third straight loss while Dubuque Hempstead improved to 7-9.
Andre Brandon led Liberty High with 16 points while Sam Funke added 10 points for the Lightning.
