Boys Basketball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Rally Comes up Short Against Benton

Clear Creek Amana rallied from a 22-point deficit in the third quarter to take the lead but Benton Community made the key plays late to pull out a 79-78 win in a WAMAC West Division matchup in Tiffin.
The Clippers outscored Benton Community 34-19 in the fourth quarter but couldn’t hang on to a late lead while dropping to 5-3 on the season.
Benton Community improved to 4-5 with the win.
Tyler Schrepfer hit six 3-pointers and led the Clippers with 24 points while Nolan Schwarting added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Nick O’Connor had 13 points and Brock Reade added nine.

City High Drops Third Straight Game in Overtime
The overtime agony for City High continued on Friday.
City High dropped its third consecutive game in overtime on Friday falling to Cedar Rapids Xavier 59-50 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup in Cedar Rapids.
The Little Hawks dropped to 2-5 on the season with their fifth straight loss while Xavier improved to 3-3 and snapped a two-game losing skid with the win.
Antonio Turner had a game-high 19 points to lead City High while Ry Threlkeld-Weigand added 10 points, Luke Young had eight and Carter Westlake added seven.
