A year after rolling to the Class 5A title game with 25 consecutive wins City High has picked up where it left off.
Third-ranked City High built a 51-32 halftime lead and rolled to a 75-48 win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy in its season opener on Friday in Cedar Rapids.
Aubrey Joens had 20 of her game-high 30 points in the first half and Rose Nkumu added 22 points to pace three City High players in double figures.
Paige Rocca added 12 points and Ella Cook had eight to lead the Little Hawks.
Auddie Alepra had 16 points and Sadie Powell added 13 for Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Regina Falls to Wilton
Wilton held Class 2A No. 12 Regina to six points in the fourth quarter in a 42-34 win over the Regals on Friday in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in Iowa City.
Kennedy Wallace led Regina with 15 points while Annie Gahan had eight and Ella Gahan and Sam Greving each had four.
Kortney Drake had 15 points, Aubrey Putman had 12 and Emily Lange added eight for Wilton.
Wilton improved to 3-0 and 3-0 in RVC play while Regina dropped to 1-1.

Koenig Leads West Branch Past Northeast
Sophomore Sasha Koenig poured in a game-high 20 points to lift West Branch to a 57-33 win over Northeast on Friday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in West Branch.
Taylor Thein added 13 points and three steals as West Branch improved to 2-0 and 2-0 in RVC play.
Koenig had four assists and four steals while Kaiya Luneckas had four points, nine rebounds and two steals in the win.
