When it comes to postseason awards Adam Bock is listed as a linebacker.

That makes sense considering that is the position where Bock did some of his best work for Solon this season and where the South Dakota State recruit projects to play at the next level.

The truth is Bock could fill just about any spot on those postseason lists because he did it all for Solon this season.  

One of the top all-around players in Class 3A this fall Bock was earned first-team all-state honors as a linebacker from the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.

Bock joins teammate AJ Coons and Clear Creek Amana sophomore defensive end TJ Bollers as area athletes on the Class 3A squads released by the IPSWA on Tuesday.  

A two-year starter on both sides of the ball Bock was at his best this season while helping Solon to a 9-1 record and spot in the 3A playoffs.

Bock led the Spartans in tackles for the second consecutive seasons collecting 74.5 tackles including three tackles for loss and two sacks from his linebacker spot.

The 6-foot, 220-pound senior also returned a fumble nine yards for a touchdown.

Bock also rushed for 644 yards and 10 touchdowns, caught 11 passes for 99 yards and three scores, averaged 42.6 yards per punt and had 14 of 43 kick offs go for touchbacks.

Coons was a second-team pick as a wide receiver after catching 48 passes for 815 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound junior ranked fourth in 3A in touchdown passes, sixth in 3A in receiving yards and ninth in receptions.

Bollers earned all-state honors for the first time earning second-team honors as a defense lineman.

The 6-foot-4, 228-pound Bollers ranked fifth on the team with 45.5 tackles and had a team-high 13 tackles for loss and four sacks.
