Aurora Roghair had an afternoon to remember on Saturday at the Cougar Invite.

The West High sophomore set meet records in a pair of individual events and added titles in two relays to help the Women of Troy to a runner-up finish at the seven-team meet at Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Freshman Scarlet Martin added a pair of individual titles as West High finished second with 492 points.

Pleasant Valley won the team title with 531 points while host Cedar Rapids Kennedy was third with 391, Johnston was fourth with 345 and City High was fifth with 203.

Roghair led the way for West High on Saturday.

She won the 200 freestyle in a meet-record time of 1:53.93 breaking the previous record set by Bailey Pons in 2009.

Roghair bested another meet record established by Pons in 2009 when she won the 500 freestyle in 5:05.6.

She joined Martin and Olivia Taegar and Ella Hochstetler on the West High 200 freestyle relay team that won in 1:42.05 and was on the 400 freestyle relay team with Taegar, Martin and Lily Ernst that won in a time of 3:41.27.

Martin won titles in the 200 IM (2:10.56) and the 100 freestyle (53.65) and Ernst added a title in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.2 as West High won seven of the 12 events.

City High got a title in the 100 backstroke as junior Carly Weigel won in 1:00.27, more than two seconds in front of runner-up Danielle Nauman of Pleasant Valley.

Weigel added a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle and Trinity Sadecky was second in the 100 butterfly for City High.
