Regina Puts Three Players on River Valley Conference Elite Team

Regina had six players earn all-conference honors from the River Valley Conference highlighted by a trio of Elite Team selection.
Juniors Katie Bracken and Jess Hunter and senior Paisley Gardner were all named to the RVC Elite team that honors the top players from both the North and South Divisions.
The three Elite Team picks for Regina were the second most for any team, trailing only Camanache who put four on the 17-member Elite Team.
West Branch freshman Nicki Henson was named to the Elite Team for the first time, headlining a group of three Bears to earn all-conference honors.
Bracken was an Elite Team pick as a pitcher after posting a 17-14 record and 2.56 ERA with 158 strikeouts in 183 innings.
Hunter earned Elite Team status as an outfielder while Gardner was an Elite Team utility selection.
Gardner led Regina with a .393 batting average, 10 doubles and 38 RBI and also went 5-0 with a 1.47 ERA in 43 innings.
Hunter hit .350 and led Regina in runs (45), home runs (2), walks (26) and stolen bases (42) from her leadoff spot.
Senior Taylor O’Connor and juniors Lauren Marth and Carrigan O’Connor were all named to the RVC South Division team.
Marth hit .325 with six doubles and 21 RBI on her way to earning South Division recognition as an infielder.
Carrigan O’Connor and Taylor O’Connor were both utility picks on the South Division squad.
Taylor O’Connor scored 21 runs and stole 21 bases while Carrigan O’Conner hit .293, scored 32 runs, stolen 21 bases and drove in 20 runs.
Henson was named to the Elite Team as an outfielder after earning being named to the South Division team last season as an eighth-grader.
The freshman hit .370 with a team-high 26 runs and 25 stolen bases and tied for the team lead with 11 walks.
Sophomores Kaiya Luneckas and Mackenzie Hesie were both named to the South Division squad for West Branch.
Luneckas went 5-10 with a 4.09 ERA and 124 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings while Heise hit a team-high .409 with three home runs and 24 RBI.
