South Division Champion Regina Has Nine Players Honored by River Valley Conference

Regina ruled the River Valley South Division this season.
When the conference announced its postseason awards the Regals were recognized for their regular season reign.
Regina had eight seniors and nine players earn all-conference honors highlighted by five elite team selections tied with North Division champion Cascade for the most members on the 17-member elite team.
Seniors Trent Hoogerwerf, Mitch Gahan, Blake Berns, Ryne Schooley and Ryan Schott were all selected to the Elite Team that features a combination of the top players from both divisions.
Nick Brandt, Evan Suchomel and Jayden Kies were all named to the South Division squad and sophomore shortstop Masen Miller was an honorable mention pick after helping Regina win the divisional title with a 16-2 record.
West Branch had four players honored as Brady Lukavsky, Matt Paulsen, Tanner Lukavsky and Ted Bridges were all named to the South Division team.
Berns was a unanimous elite team selection as an outfielder after hitting .337 with a team-high 5 home runs and 31 RBI.
Schott was named to the elite team as an infielder while Schooley was a first-team utility pick.
Gahan was an elite team pitcher and Hoogerwerf was named to the elite squad as a catcher.
Schooley hit a team-high .432 and led Regina in runs (44), doubles (13), home runs (5), RBI (36) and stolen bases (18).
Schott hit .384 with two home runs and 24 RBI while Hoogerwerf hit .375 with two home runs and 29 RBI.
Gahan posted an 8-2 record and 1.39 ERA while striking out 69 in 50 1/3 innings.
Brandt was named to the South Division team as an infielder while Suchomel and Kies were both South Division squad outfield picks.
Brandt hit .403 with 16 RBI, Suchomel posted a .340 average and 28 runs while Kies batted .345 with 19 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
The West Branch battery of junior catcher Brady Lukavsky and sophomore pitcher Matt Paulsen led the Bears’ South Division honorees.
Paulsen went 4-3 with a 1.20 ERA and struck out 42 in a team-high 46 2/3 innings while Brady Lukavsky hit .319 with seven doubles and 16 RBI.
Sophomore shortstop Tanner Lukavsky was a South Division infield selection and junior Ted Bridges was a utility pick on the South Division team.
Tanner Lukavsky hit a team-high .375 with 20 runs and 16 RBI and Bridges hit .300 with 10 RBI and went 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA in 34 1/3 innings.
