Clear Creek Amana didn’t waste any time getting its offense into mid-season form.
The Clippers hammered 26 hits and scored 26 runs in a season-opening doubleheader sweep of Washington on Tuesday in Washington.
Clear Creek Amana won the opener 9-2 and took the nightcap 17-4.
The Clippers scored three or more runs in an inning five times in the doubleheader including a 10-run sixth inning in the nightcap.
Camden Armstrong earned the win in game one allowing six hits and one unearned run in 5 2/3 innings while striking out three and walking three.
Armstrong, David Jensen and Tyler Schrepfer all had a hit and an RBI in the game-one win while Grant Jensen scored two runs.
In game two Cody Ogden earned the winning allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five in five innings.
Clear Creek Amana took advantage of 15 walks in game two and got two hits from Ogden, Armstrong and Ben Swails.
Swails went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI while Armstrong drove in three runs and Ogden scored three times.
Camden Smyka had a hit an RBI and scored three runs and Jordan Wolfe had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored.

West High Sweeps Bettendorf
Braden Houston and West High seem to have picked up right where they left off last season.
Houston tossed a five-hitter in the opener and Class 4A second-ranked West High (2-0) scored 19 runs in a season-opening doubleheader sweep of Bettendorf on Tuesday at West High.
Bettendorf dropped to 1-2 with the losses.
Houston struck out seven and walked two while allowing one earned run in a five-inning complete game to lead West High to a win in the season opener.
Chase Calderwood had two hits and drove in two runs while Nick Biancuzzo and Lucas Karwal each had a hit and drove in two runs in the win.
West High used a six-run sixth inning to break open a 2-1 game in the nightcap.
Tyler Stern earned the win, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six in five innings.
Jayson Barnes had two hits, two runs and drove in two more while Trevor Byers had two hits including a double and scored a run.
Karwal and Carter Johnson each had a hit and drove in two runs.
