Clear Creek Amana continued its late season surge with a 7-0 win over Fort Madison (4-13) in a Class 2A, Substate 5 quarterfinal on Monday in Tiffin.
The win was the fourth in five matches for Clear Creek Amana and improved the Clippers to 5-11 on the season.
Clear Creek Amana will face unbeaten and second-ranked Marion (13-0) in the Substate 5 semifinal on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Marion.
Six different Clippers scored a goal on Monday as the Clippers reached the substate semifinals for the 10th consecutive season.
Christian Romero had scored twice and added an assist and Trevor King and Taylor Christiansen each had a goal and an assist.
Harrison Cory, Mitch Evans and Josh Nelson all added goals for the Clippers.
Solon Wins Substate Opener
Class 1A third-ranked Solon took its first step toward a return trip to the state tournament with a 5-0 win over Highland in a Class 1A, Substate 5 quarterfinal on Monday at Spartan Stadium in Solon.
Solon improved to 14-5 with the win while Highland closed the season 1-12.
Bennett Meier had a pair of goals for Solon and Jorel Justus added a goal and an assist for the Spartans.
Gabe Yetley and Luke McInnis each added goals as Solon advance to take on Fort Madison Holy Trinity (8-9) in the Substate 5 semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Solon.
