Girls Soccer Roundup: City High Gets Second Straight Win With Victory Over Cedar Rapids Jefferson

After opening the season with a loss City High picked up its first win of the season on Saturday.
On Tuesday the Little Hawks made it two in a row.
City High ran its winning streak to two with a 3-0 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in its Mississippi Valley Conference opener in Iowa City.
Class 3A No. 14 City High got goals from Shawna O’Malley, Madeline Pugh and Ashleigh Seydel while improving to 2-1 on the season.
Sydney DePrenger had two assists and Karissa Diianni had one assist in the win.
Cedar Rapids Jefferson dropped to 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in MVC play with the loss.
West High Falls at Linn-Mar
Class 3A No. 11 Linn-Mar scored four second-half goals to break open a close match on its way to a 5-0 win over No. 10 West High on Tuesday in Marion.
Linn-Mar improved to 2-0 on the season and 2-0 in MVC play with the win while West High dropped to 0-3 and 0-1 in MVC action.
Piper Carey, Maddi Fisher, Ashlee Haumesser, Annika Menges and Hallie Peak all had goals for Linn-Mar in the win.
Clear Creek Amana Drops Overtime Thriller
Clear Creek Amana fell to Central DeWitt 5-4 in double overtime on Tuesday in Tiffin.
Carsyn Gallagher had three goals and Alexis Schau added a goal for the Clippers but it wasn’t enough as Central DeWitt scored the game-winning goal two minutes into the second overtime.
Clear Creek Amana dropped to 0-2 on the season while Central DeWitt improved to 1-1.
Ellen Austin had two assists for Clear Creek Amana while Emilia Perreira and Georgie Schuerer each had one.
