Coming off one of the most successful WAMAC tournament performances in program history the key for Clear Creek Amana was carrying that momentum into the postseason.

The Clippers did just that on Saturday.

Clear Creek Amana crowned three champions and qualified four wrestlers for districts at the Class 2A, Sectional 6 meet at Davenport Assumption.

Samual Stevens, Andrew Rohret and Tanner Cochran all won titles on Saturday to qualify for next Saturday’s 2A, District 3 meet at Fairfield while Jake Neuzil qualified for districts with a runner-up finish.

The three championships helped Clear Creek Amana to a third-place team finish with 155.5 points.

Davenport Assumption won the team title with 266 points followed by Columbus with 163. Liberty High finished fifth with 136.5 points.

Stevens (32-14) pinned West Burlington/Notre Dame freshman Grifen Molle to claim the 113-pound title while Rohret (35-13) won a 3-2 decision over Liberty High freshman Ashton Barker in the 145-pound championship match.

Cochran (34-11) claimed the 220-pound title with a 4-3 win over Henry Martens of Davenport Assumption.

Neuzil was the runner-up at 126 pounds, falling to Davenport Assumption sophomore Noah Weiman via first-period fall.

Liberty High had a trio of district qualifiers in its first ever sectional meet appearance.

Barker (25-9) was runner-up at 145 pounds while freshman Jared Alger (18-17) was runner-up and 132 and Gavin Luze advanced with a runner-up finish at 170.
