West High didn’t waste any time bouncing back which is good because the battles with ranked teams are only beginning for the Women of Troy.
Class 5A No. 3 ranked West High rebounded from a loss to Bolingbrook, Illinois on Monday with a 58-53 win over No. 10 Cedar Rapids Prairie on Friday at West High.
The win started a string of four consecutive games against ranked in-state opponents for West High (11-3) which travels to defending state champion West Des Moines Valley on Saturday.
Logan Cook had a team-high 16 points to lead three players in double figures as West High earned its second win over Prairie this season.
Emma Koch had 13 points and Rachael Saunders added 11 for West High.
Mallory McDermott had a game-high 17 points to lead Prairie while Sarah Schmitt had 16 and Sidney Mcrea 13.

City High Rolls Past Cedar Rapids Jefferson
Top-ranked City High remained unbeaten with an 85-49 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest on Friday in Iowa City.
Ashley Joens poured in a game-high 29 points as City High improved to 14-0 on the season and 8-0 in MVC play.
Audrey Joens had 17 points. Rose Nkumu had 16 points and Paige Rocca added 12 for the Little Hawks.
Erica Oler led Cedar Rapids Jefferson (5-10) with 15 points
