Girls Basketball Roundup: Liberty High Wins Second Straight

For the first time in program history Liberty High is on a winning streak.
Liberty High won its second straight game on Saturday with a 61-33 victory over Fort Madison (0-7) in North Liberty.
Sam McPherson had a team-high 16 points and Cora Saunders added 15 points as Liberty High (3-5) followed up a 53-42 win over Williamsburg on Thursday with its most lopsided win of the season.
Liberty High shot a season-best 57 percent on its way to a season-high 61 points in the win.
Kayli Baldwin added seven points and Jenna Saunders had six while Megan Davis had a team-high five rebounds and McPherson had four steals.

West Branch Snaps Skid With Win Over West Liberty
West Branch snapped a two-game losing skid with a 65-31 win over West Liberty on Saturday in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in West Liberty.
Tatum Koenig had 20 points, eight assists and five steals as West Branch improved to 4-4 on the season and 3-4 in RVC play.
Sasha Koenig had 15 points, three steals and three rebounds while Taya Young had 14 points and five rebounds for the Bears.
Bridget Buol added six points and four rebounds.
Macy Akers led West Liberty (1-7, 1-6 RVC) with 13 points, four rebounds and four steals.

Top-Ranked City High Stays Unbeaten
Class 5A top-ranked City High improved to 7-0 on the season with a 72-26 win over Muscatine in a non-conference contest in Iowa City on Saturday.
Muscatine dropped to 3-6 with the loss.
