Girls Basketball Roundup: Regina Wins Third Game in Five Days

Regina didn’t let some early shooting struggles stop its winning streak.
Class 2A sixth-ranked Regina overcame some cold shooting early to push its winning streak to three straight with a 65-41 win at Wilton on Saturday in a River Valley Conference matchup.
Regina improved to 4-2 and 4-1 in RVC play while Wilton dropped to 4-3 and 2-3 in RVC action with its second straight loss.
The Regals led 25-13 at the half but put up 40 points in the final two quarters to secure its third RVC win of the week.
Kennedy Wallace poured in a career-high 20 points to lead Regina and Alex Wiese posted her second double-double in as many days with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Regina forced Wilton into 21 turnovers in the win.
Aubrey Putman led the Beavers with 16 points while Kortney Drake added 11.

Hopkins Hands West High First Loss
Class 5A second-ranked West High dropped its first game of the season on Saturday falling to Minnesota Class 4A top-ranked Hopkins 67-48 at the Breakdown Invitational in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak to open the season for West High (4-1) while Hopkins improved to 5-0.
Logan Cook led West High with 10 points while Audrey Koch added eight points and five rebounds.
Emma Koch and Paige Beckner each had seven points for West High while Cailyn Morgan had five points and five rebounds.
Hopkins sophomore Paige Bueckers, a top-10 national recruit, had a game-high 27 points while teammate Kira Mosley added 10 points.
