Solon used a 45-point second half to defeat South Tama 78-61 in a WAMAC cross-divisional matchup in Tama on Tuesday.

Senior guards Ben Krutzfeld and Ethan Yahr each had 19 points as Solon won its season opener for the 11th consecutive season.

Sophomore AJ Coons added 17 points for Solon (1-0).

Gabe Shields had a game-high 21 points to lead South Tama (1-1).

Clear Creek Amana Drops Opener To Dyersville Beckman

Clear Creek Amana fell to Dyersville Beckman 48-42 on Tuesday in the season opener for both teams in Tiffin.

Darius Moore had a team-high 15 points to lead Clear Creek Amana while freshman TJ Bollers had 11 points and seven rebounds in his varsity debut.
