West High won all 11 swimming events to roll to a 128-58 win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual on Tuesday at the Coralville Recreation Center.

Six different athletes won an event for West High on Tuesday led by sophomore Lily Ernst and freshman Aurora Roghair who each claimed a pair of individual titles.

Ernst won the 200 IM in 2:12.96 and added a title in the 100 butterfly in 59.42 while Roghair won the 100 freestyle in 54.01 and 100 backstroke in 1:01.57.

Both Ernst and Roghair finished with four first-place finishes.

The two were part of the Women of Troy’s winning 400 freestyle relay team while Ernst was on the West High 200 medley relay team that won in 2:03.36 and Roghair was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay squad.

Melanie Housenga won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.81, Izabel Houselog took the 50 freestyle in 27.03 and Alleyna Thomas won the 500 freestyle in 5:21.69.

Freshman Jenny Geng won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:12.55.

Weigel, Yahashiri Lead City High in Win Over Waterloo

City High won nine of 12 events on its way to a 123-59 win over Waterloo on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual at the Mercer Park Aquatic Center.

The Little Hawks won all three relays and finished, first second and third in the 50, 100, 200 and 500 freestyle races on its way to the convincing win.

Sophomore Carly Weigel and freshman Rika Yahashiri each picked up a pair of individual titles and were part of the Little Hawks winning 200 freestyle relay team.

Yahashiri won the 200 freestyle in 2:08.69 and added a win in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.48.

Weigel claimed a title in the 50 freestyle in 25.84 and also won the 500 freestyle in 5:26.42.

Senior Laura Lorenger won the 100 freestyle in 58.31 and freshman Jesse Hauskneckt-Brown won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.79.
