Dubuque Wahlert scored the first 28 points on its way to a 42-20 win over Clear Creek Amana on Friday in the district opener for both teams at the Rock Bowl in Dubuque.

Kolton Bartow rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns as Dubuque Wahlert rolled up 263 yards on the ground while improving to 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in Class 3A District 4 play.

Senior quarterback Ethan Postler threw for more than 240 yards for the second straight week and Darius Moore had his second consecutive 100-yard receiving game but it wasn’t enough as Clear Creek Amana dropped to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in district play.

Postler completed 17-of-27 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown with Moore snagging eight passes for 128 yards including a 31-yard touchdown.

Moore also threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Cade Stratton.

The Clippers managed just 48 rushing yards on 34 carries with Cade Gallagher leading the way with 27 yards on eight carries. Zach Kabbage added 13 yards on the ground and scored on a 7-yard run.

Dubuque Wahlert rolled up 418 yards of total offense as Bryce Osterberger passed for 155 and a touchdown.

Quentin Gisleson had a pair of interceptions to lead the Clear Creek Amana defense while J.J. Denny had six solo stops among his team-high seven tackles.

Donovan Wildman and David Jensen each had 4.5 tackles for the Clippers.

After back-to-back road games Clear Creek Amana returns home to face Maquoketa (0-3) on Friday.
