Volleyball Roundup: Regina Falls to Tipton in Top-15 River Valley Conference Opener

Regina had a five-match winning streak snapped with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-15 loss to Class 3A third-ranked Tipton on Thursday in a River Valley Conference South Division match in Tipton.
Class 2A No. 15 Regina dropped to 5-1 with the loss and 0-1 in RVC play while Tipton improved to 5-0 and 1-0 in conference matches.
Alex Wiese had 12 kills and Jaedynn Evans added 11 for Regina while Emily Bonnett had 17 assists and two ace serves.
Clare Dunne had a team-high 18 digs for the Regals.
Sommer Daniel led Tipton with 16 kills and 16 assists while Blake Ehler added 10 kills for the Tigers.
Clippers Win Home Opener
It was home sweet home for Clear Creek Amana on Thursday.
Playing at home for the first time this season Clear Creek Amana swept South Tama 28-26, 25-18, 27-25 in a WAMAC West Division matchup in Tiffin.
Shauntina Williams had 12 kills and freshman Hailey Pollock added seven kills and four ace serves as the Clippers improved to 4-5 on the season.
Karsyn Stratton chipped in with five kills and Zoe Boehme had a team-high 16 assists for Clear Creek Amana.
Three different Clippers had double digit digs led by Jordan Neely with 15.
Kelsey Lipkea had 11 digs and Carsyn Gallagher had 10 in the win.
South Tama dropped to 0-2 on the season.
West Branch Drops RVC Opener
West Branch fell to Class 2A ninth-ranked Wilton 25-23, 25-15, 25-18 in the River Valley Conference opener for both teams on Thursday in West Branch.
Wilton improved to 10-0 and has yet to drop a set while West Branch dropped to 3-5 on the season.
Abbey Fryauf led West Branch with 10 kills and Kaiya Luneckas added nine kills for the Bears.
Sophie Nopolous had a team-high 16 assists and 14 digs while Riley Vaughan had 11 assists.
Courtney Jarrett collected a team-high 15 digs, Mackenzie had four blocks and McKenna Walsh had three ace serves for West Branch.
