Durant swept Regina on Monday in a River Valley South Division doubleheader between top-10 teams in Durant.

Class 2A fourth-ranked Durant (23-7) won the opener 2-1 and took the nightcap 8-1 to pull even with Regina atop the RVC South Division standings at 13-2.

Seventh-ranked Regina had a nine-game winning streak snapped with the doubleheader sweep and dropped to 22-11 on the season.

Sarah Lehman took the loss for Regina in the opener, allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out 12.

Clare Dunne went 2-for-3 with a run to lead Regina while Emily Bonnett, Emma Corkery, Katie Bracken, Maeve Dunne and Lehman all had a hit for the Regals.

In the nightcap, Emily Bonnet went 2-for-4 for the Regals.

Jess Hunter was 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored and Emma Corkery added a hit.

Katie Bracken took the loss in the nightcap, allowing eight runs on 11 hits in three innings.

Mid-Prairie Sweeps West Branch in RVC South Doubleheader

Mid-Prairie swept West Branch in a River Valley Conference South Division doubleheader on Monday in West Branch winning the opener 8-5 and taking game two 13-3.

West Branch dropped to 12-21 with the losses and 4-10 in RVC play while Mid-Prairie improved to 11-18.

Taylor Thein went 4-for-4 with two doubles as West Branch hammered 12 hits in the opener.

Maddy Hatfield and Nicki Henson each added two hits in game one with Henson driving in two runs.

Kaiya Luneckas took the loss allowing four earned runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Dalana Kron went 3-for-4 to pace West Branch in the nightcap while Thein went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Kaylee Montgomery had two hits and drove in two runs for West Branch.
