Softball Roundup: Regina Stays Perfect in RVC Play With 8-Inning Win at Northeast
Regina needed an extra inning to do it but the Regals remained unbeaten in River Valley Conference play.
Class 2A seventh-ranked Regina scored the winning run on a bases loaded hit by pitch to down Northeast 1-0 in eight innings in a RVC cross-divisional contest in Gooselake.
Sarah Lehman ran her consecutive scoreless inning streak to 20 with a two-hit shutout as Regina improved to 17-9 on the season and 13-0 in RVC play while Northeast dropped to 13-11 and 7-7 in conference play.
Taylor O'Conner scored the winning run in the eighth when Lauren Marth was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
O'Conner, Jess Hunter, Emma Corkery and Emily Bonnett all had singles for Regina.
Lehman walked two and struck out 11 in the eight-inning complete game while improving her season record to 8-5.
