Solon, Clear Creek Amana Put Players on WAMAC First Teams

One of the best seasons in program history has the Solon boys soccer team picking up postseason awards.
Solon had three players named to the WAMAC East Division first team when the conference announced its postseason honors last week.
Juniors Nick Radcliffe and Isaac Vang and sophomore Luke Yetley were all first team honorees for Solon which finished 16-6 and returned to the 1A state tournament for the first time since 2012.
Yetley had a team-high 15 goals and added four assists this season while Vang had 11 goals and four assists for the Spartans.
Radcliffe had five goals and three assists and played a key role in a Solon defense that posted 15 shutouts.
Senior forward Ben Carr and junior keeper Eric Weetman both earned second team East Division honors for the Spartans.
Clear Creek Amana had a pair of first team picks in the West Division as seniors Trey Godbolt and Wyatt Sedlacek were both selected to the first team.
Sedlacek led the Clippers with nine goals and had six assists from his midfield spot while Godbolt spearheaded a Clipper defense that allowed 13 goals all season.
Clear Creek Amana senior keeper Ian McDonald and sophomore Mitch Evans were both named to the second team.
