City High and West High both ended their seasons at the Class 3A state tournament last week.

Both programs started the offseason on Monday by collecting rewards for their efforts.

City High had three players earn first-team honors and West High had a pair of players named to the first-team when the Mississippi Valley Conference announced its all-divisional selections.

West High senior Zach Frisbie was named the Mississippi Division keeper of the year while City High senior Sam Tomek was keeper of the year in the Valley Division.

West High claimed its ninth state title on Saturday and Monday had a pair of first-team all-division selections in Frisbie and senior Alex Andersen.

Andersen led West High with 23 goals and 13 assists this season while Frisbie made 78 saves and allowed 18 goals.

Seniors Sam Choi, Adam Rose and Conor Zielinski were all second-team picks for the Trojans.

Choi was second on the team with 16 goals while Rose and Zielinski were key players in the West High back line.

Three City High juniors earn first-team honors as Jackson Meyer, Jonah Dancer and Cameron Chavez were all named to the Valley Division first team.

Dancer led City High with nine goals and also had four assists while Chavez had seven goals and a team-high six assists.

Meyer had six goals and an assist from his midfield spot.

Junior John Clark and seniors Rasmus Schlutter and Tomek were all second-team picks for the Little Hawks.

Clark had seven goals and two assists and Schlutter had six goals on the season.

Tomek allowed 12 goals and had 30 saves for City High.

Cedar Rapids Xavier senior Luke Duball was the Mississippi Division player of the year while Cedar Rapids Washington junior Andrew Hammer earned the player of the year award in the Valley Division.
