Liberty High Hires Cross Country, Golf Coaches

Liberty High will field teams in 14 independent varsity sports during the 2017-2018 school year.
Principal Scott Kibby announced the hiring of head coaches for nearly a third of those sports on Monday.
Kibby announced the hiring of head coaches in both boys and girls cross country and boys and girls golf on Monday bring the total number of head coaches for the new high school to six.
Randy Dolson was announced as the head volleyball coach while Jeff Kelley was previously tabbed to run the softball program.
On Monday, Kibby announced Josh Hildebrand and Tonya McDonough as the first cross country coaches at Liberty and Sean McCarty and Brian Wernimont as the school’s first golf coaches.
Hildebrand will lead the boys cross country program after spending the past 12 seasons as an assistant at City High.
McDonough who won state titles at both Durant and Marion will lead the girls cross country program.
Brown Deer club professionals Wernimont and McCarty will head up the Liberty High golf programs.
McCarty will coach the boys and Wernimont will lead the girls program.
Katie Melloy was also announced as the dance team coach.
Melloy previous served in the same role at West High.
