Jared Brinkman and Luke Stein finished first and second in both throwing events on Saturday at the Davenport Assumption Invite at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.

Brinkman set meet records while winning both events and Stein was runner-up in both helping Regina to a fifth-place team finish with 61 points.

Dubuque Hempstead with the team title at the 10-team meet with 126 points followed by Des Moines Hoover with 109 and Rochelle Township with 106.

Brinkman won the shot put with a meet-record toss of 59-8 and took the discus with another meet-record effort of 154-10.

Jack Jensen added a runner-up finish in the 400 in 52.21.

Dr. Brooks Coed Valley Relays

Quenton Max and Jonah Waikel each record runner-up finishes to help City High to a seventh-place finish at the Dr. Brooks Relays at West Des Moines Valley on Saturday.

Max finished second in the 1,600 and Waikel was second in the high jump to help City High rack up 69 points.

Host West Des Moines Valley won the team title with 158 points followed by Indianola with 102 and Ankeny Centennial with 100.

City High also received a runner-up finish from its sprint medley relay team of Zach Jones, Rex Thompson, Jack Roggeveen and Daniel Brown that finished in a school-record time of 1:36.02.

Jones added a third-place finish the 400 for City High.
