The future for Jacob Coons is on the football field.

Before the Solon senior turns his full attention to his football career at Iowa he was honored for his work on the hardwood.

Coons was a unanimous first-team pick on the WAMAC East Division first-team when the conference released its postseason awards this week.

The 6-foot-4 senior led averaged a team-high 13.5 points and added 5 rebounds a game to help Solon to a fourth-place East Division finish and an overall 13-8 record.

Senior Sterling McIlravy was a named to the East Division second team after averaging 8.7 points and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game.

Clear Creek Amana senior Tate Thomsen was a second-team selection in the West Division.

The 6-foot-3 senior led the Clippers in scoring at 13.1 points per game and assists with 2.4 per game and also grabbed 4.9 rebounds per contest.

West Delaware coach Matt Uthoff was named East Division coach of the year after leading the Hawks to a 21-0 record and division title.

Center Point-Urbana’s Matt  Halac was named East Division coach of the year after guiding the Stormin’ Pointers to the Divisional title.
