West High Standout Manson Commits to Iowa

Another one of the top players in the state announced they will be staying in the state of Iowa to play collegiate football.
West High senior two-way standout Julian Manson announced his commitment to Iowa with a post on social media on Tuesday.
“Staying home,” Manson wrote in his commitment post on X.
A three-year, two-way starter for the Trojans Manson is coming off the best season of his career last fall.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Manson earned first-team Class 5A all-state honors last season as a junior after helping West High to a 6-5 record and a spot in the Class 5A state quarterfinals.
As a wide receiver Manson ranked in the top five in Class 5A in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns catching 52 passes for 867 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Manson was just as impressive on the defensive side of the ball last season leading West High in tackles from his linebacker spot.
Manson had a team-high 86.5 tackles including 34 solo stops and 1.5 tackles for loss.
As a sophomore in 2023 Manson caught six passes for 54 yards and made 31.5 tackles and intercepted two passes.
A three-sport standout, Manson averaged 12.3 points 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steal per game on 62 percent shooting from the floor for the West High basketball team last winter and ran on three West High relay teams that earned medals at the state track and field meet this spring.
