City High made its season debut in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union softball rankings on Thursday coming in at No. 14 in Class 5A.

The Little Hawks are off to a 9-6 start and enter the 5A rankings for the first time this week one spot in front of No. 15 Sioux City East.

Clear Creek Amana climbed in the Class 4A rankings for the second week in a row when the most recent rankings were released on Thursday.

The Clippers moved up one spot to seventh after a 12-1 start to the season.

Top-ranked teams in the first set of rankings this season are Waukee Northwest in Class 5A, Cedar Rapids Xavier in Class 4A, Williamsburg in Class 3A, Van Meter in Class 2A and Clarksville in Class 1A.
