Liberty High, Clear Creek Amana and Regina all appeared in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union preseason softball rankings released on Tuesday.

Regina is the highest ranked area team in the preseason rankings entering the season at eighth in Class 2A.

The Regals were 20-13 last season.

Clear Creek Amana is ninth in the Class 4A preseason rankings and is coming off a 25-13 season that ended with a loss in a 4A regional final.

Liberty High opens the season 12^th in Class 5A following a 23-12 campaign that ended with a regional title game loss to Muscatine.

Top-ranked teams in the first set of rankings this season are Waukee Northwest in Class 5A, North Polk in Class 4A, Williamsburg in Class 3A, Van Meter in Class 2A and Wayne in Class 1A.
