Naeve Helps Regina to Fifth-place Team Finish at River Valley Conference Meet

Reese Naeve won the 100 hurdles and finished third in the high jump to help Regina to a fifth-place team finish at the River Valley Conference meet on Thursday at Tipton City Park.
Naeve won the 100 hurdles in 15.22 and cleared 5-0 to finish third in the high jump as Regina racked up 58 team points.
Mid-Prairie won the team title with 125 points followed by host Tipton with 100 and Maquoketa with 77.
Monticello was fourth with 59 points while Cascade was sixth with 52.5 and West Branch was seventh with 41.
Naeve also anchored the Regina shuttle hurdle relay team to a runner-up finish in a time of 1:11.1 and ran on the Regal 4×100 foursome that placed sixth in 51.59.
Avery Recker finished fourth in both the 100 and 200 for Regina while Betsy Gavin was fifth in the 100 hurdles.
Adalee Klein placed sixth in the discus and Ruby Greving was sixth in the 1,500 while Harper Erwin was eighth in the 800.
West Branch was led by senior Alyssa Pierce and sophomore Grace Hamann.
Pierce won the shot put title with a mark of 40-6 while Hamann was runner-up in the 800 and finished fourth in the 400 hurdles.
Hamann anchored the West Branch distance medley relay team to a third-place finish in 4:19.75 and the Bears also finished fourth in the 4×200 relay.
