Boys Golf Roundup: West Branch, Smith Win Titles at Wildcat Invite

Aday after winning a River Valley Conference quadrangular at Wahkonsa Golf Course on Monday West Branch found itself in familiar territory with a similar result on Tuesday.
West Branch had three players finish in the top 10 on its way to winning the team title at the 10-team Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday at Wahkona Golf Course in Durant.
McGavin Smith fired an even-par 72, shooting 36 on both sides, as West Branch shot a 325 to win the team title by five strokes over West Liberty.
Tipton was third with 335 followed by Mid-Prairie with 341 and Camanche with a 354.
Smith finished seven strokes in front of West Liberty’s Cole Daufeldt who was runner-up with a 79.
Bryce Anderson shot an 82 to finish fourth overall for West Branch while teammate Paxton Tisinger fired an 84 to finish ninth.
Ethan Miller shot an 87 and Gavin Oxley shot an 89 for the Bears.
