Boys Track and Field Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Wins Team Title at Mount Vernon Relays

Clear Creek Amana raced to the team title at the Mount Vernon Relays on Thursday evening and made a couple of impressive statements in the process.
The Clippers won six events highlighted by impressive individual efforts from Landon Prince and Tay Seals while racking up 131 points to win the team title.
Lisbon was runner-up with 96 followed by WAMAC foes Center Point-Urbana with 91, Benton Community with 79, Mount Vernon with 70 and Solon with 60.
West Branch was seventh with 33 points.
Prince swept the throwing events on Thursday winning the shot put with a mark of 57-10 ½ and taking the discus title with a mark of 176-5.
The winning throws by Prince in both events rank second in the state this season.
Seals won the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.1 which is the third fastest time in the state this spring.
Clear Creek Amana added titles in the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:00.66, the sprint medley in a time of 1:35.69 and the 4×100 in a time of 42.99.
Carson Bromwell added a runner-up finish in the shot put with a mark of 46-6 ½ while Brock Hilsman was runner-up in the 1,600 in 4:48.25 and the Clippers were second in the 4×200, 4×400 and 4×800 relays.
Solon won the distance medley relay in a time of 3:52.02 and got a runner-up finish from Caleb Bock in the long jump with a mark of 21-9.
Brandon Pedersen won the 400 to lead West Branch finishing in a time of 52.19.
Pedersen added a runner-up finish in the 100 in 11.18 and Nolan Staker was fourth in the 110 hurdles in a time of 16.37 for the Bears.
