Clear Creek Amana Junior Lower Named WAMAC West Division Player of the Year For Second Time

For the second straight season Averie Lower has earned top honors in the WAMAC West Division.
Lower was named WAMAC West Division player of the year for the second year in a row on Wednesday highlighting a list of five Clear Creek Amana players to earn all-division honors.
A unanimous first-team WAMAC West Division pick, Lower ranked third in Class 4A and led all WAMAC players in scoring at 22.5 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor.
Lower added 8.8 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.8 assists per game while helping Clear Creek Amana to a runner-up finish in the WAMAC West Division.
Junior Lena Evans joined Lower as unanimous first-team WAMAC West Division picks.
Evans averaged 17.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 77 percent from the line.
Junior Kennedy Stratton earned second-team all-West Division honors after averaging 7.8 points, 3.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Senior Kelsey Leathers and junior Nakia Tangang each earned honorable mention honors in the West Division.
Solon senior guard Kobi Lietz was a unanimous first-team selection in the East Division.
Lietz averaged 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 3.3 assists per game while helping Solon to a 12-11 record.
Junior guard Delainey Durr was named to the East Division second team after leading the Spartans in scoring with 12.3 points per game.
Durr shot 34 percent from the 3-point line and averaged 3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Freshman Beckett Kruse and sophomore Jerzey Haluska were both East Division honorable mention picks for Solon.
