One of the leaders of the Regina lines has settled on a football future.
Two-way standout Matt Colony announced his commitment to Division III power Wartburg on Monday with a post on social media.
“Excited to announce I am going to be continuing my academic and athletic career at Wartburg,” Colony wrote on X. “Thank you to everyone who has helped me through this process and I’m pumped for the next chapter.”
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Colony was an anchor on both the offensive and defensive lines for Regina last season helping the Regals to a 9-2 record and a spot in the Class 1A quarterfinals.
Colony was named District offensive lineman of the year and was a second team Class 1A all-state selection as an offensive lineman
As an offensive lineman Colony helped pave the way for Regina to average 28.7 points and 362 total yards of offense.
Colony was just as impactful on defense.
He ranked fourth on the team with 41 tackles including eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks from his defensive tackle spot.
Wartburg went 10-2 and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III tournament last fall.
